Rabbi Aaron Frank (Principal of Upper School) joined Ramaz in 2023 as the Upper School Principal. Prior to joining Ramaz, Rabbi Frank was Head of School at Kinneret Day School in Riverdale, New York, Associate Principal at SAR High School, and Lower and then High School Principal at Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School in Baltimore, Maryland.

Rabbi Frank is widely recognized for his student-centered approach to learning and his genuine appreciation of each student’s unique gifts and strengths. In every place he has worked, he has cultivated an environment where faculty are supported, diversity of opinion and skill set is embraced, and authenticity and integrity are valued. His ability to make connections and build relationships are the primary reasons why he has been able to implement innovative curricular changes and inspire academic excellence.

Rabbi Frank received his BA in Philosophy from the University of Michigan, an MS from Columbia University School of Social Work, and his rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. He is a graduate of the Jerusalem Fellows program at the Mandel Leadership Institute in Jerusalem, as well as of the Principals’ Center at Harvard Graduate School of Education.  

Rabbi Frank is a frequent blogger, podcaster, and author of several publications on topics about relevance in tefila, standards in education for yeshiva high school students, and spirituality in the life of teens. His blog Mifrasim addresses the challenges and triumphs of "Navigating our Lives as Role Models, Educators, Parents and Jews."

Ms. Miriam Krupka is Associate Principal at the Ramaz Upper School. She also chairs the Tanakh Department, shaping and building curriculum and identifying new and creative resources to help ensure that Torah learning at Ramaz continuously expands in depth, sophistication, and richness. Ms. Krupka also teaches in the Jewish Law and Thought (JLT) Department and has taught interdisciplinary seminars and courses on Taharat haMishpacha and Jewish intimacy and family life.
Ms. Krupka completed a Masters in Jewish Philosophy from Columbia University where her thesis work focused on the messianic writings of Isaac Abarbanel. She has lectured widely to adult audiences in a variety of synagogues and community venues and is a sought-after lecturer on topics related to Tanakh, philosophy, and education. Ms. Krupka lives in Teaneck, NJ, with her husband, Dr. Ari Berger, and their children, Etai, Gavriel, Shai and Sarah.
