Upper Schoolers Lobby NY Senators and Assembly Members to Protect Houses of Worship

Ramaz News

Ramaz Upper School students spent the day in Albany with UJA lobbying state senators and assembly members. With delegation chair and Ramaz parent Deborah Edell, they lobbied for the “Buffer Zone” legislation, which would help guarantee safe access to synagogues and other houses of worship. Kol hakavod to freshmen Ben F., Murray K., Andrew P., and Isaac S., and junior Daniel P., for standing up and speaking out to protect Jews and the community! The students also participated in a joint press conference with the senators, assembly members, and faith leaders from all over New York State who support the legislation. The students even met with Governor Hochul, to thank her for putting this legislation into the state budget.
