Upper Schoolers Combine Athletics, Student Leadership, and Chesed with the Inaugural Junior Boys Intramural Basketball League

The inaugural Junior Boys Intramural Basketball League concluded this week with an exciting championship game on the final day of school, capping off a semester-long program that brought tremendous energy and enthusiasm to Ramaz. Students have loved this extra outlet for movement and fun during the school day!

The league was founded and led by junior Noah H., who organized nearly 50 Ramaz junior boys into a fully functioning basketball league. Under Noah’s direction, the students formed teams and played during their lunch periods over the course of a semester. Excitingly, the wining team is donating $100 to a Ramaz chesed initiative! The boys will discuss together and soon announce where they want their money to be donated.

What made the program especially impressive was the level of student engagement. Day after day, students eagerly came down to play and to support their classmates. The championship game drew a strong turnout and showcased the excitement the league generated throughout the semester. The success of the junior league has already sparked interest across the school and other grades. Many students have asked how the program can continue and expand, and the hope is that next year similar student-led leagues will be established for the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior grades.
