The Upper School Welcomes A New Addition To Its Lobby

Ramaz News

Aviva W. '24 has always admired the mitzvah of giving tzedakah. She comments that this mitzvah is one of her favorites because "every small or large contribution helps." Having attended the Ramaz Middle School, she saw the big tzedakah box in the lobby every day and always felt inspired to partake in the mitzvah. Aviva wanted to foster this inspiration in her fellow students at the Upper School.

On this past Monday, the entire school welcomed the newest addition to their lobby, a handcrafted tzedakah box, built by the Ramaz Woodworking Club. "My hope is that by having this tzedakah box in the lobby, and having it be passed by and seen every day, we will all feel inspired to take a minute out of our day to make any contribution we can," Aviva shared with the student body. She also thanked Dean of Students Rabbi Dov Pianko, who helped jumpstart this project, and Sophie O. '25, Jordan K. '25, and Sami Rose F. '26, the members of the Woodworking Club.
