Video Inside: Seniors Journey to Poland for Reflection and Personal Growth

Ramaz News

Seniors embarked on one of the most powerful and venerated Ramaz traditions: the Senior Journey to Poland. Students culminated their Ramaz experience by traveling to major sites in Jewish history and reflecting on the rich cultural heritage and on the horrors of the Holocaust. They bonded as a grade by touring locations including the Warsaw Ghetto, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Schindler’s Factory, and more. As they learned firsthand about the important history, they focused on the power of Jewish resilience and of Jewish pride. The students returned from the trip feeling changed as people and have all emphasized the impact the trip had on them. They feel closer to their Judaism, to Jewish history, and to each other as a grade, and they feel that the experiences they had on their journey will influence them for the rest of their lives.

At the schoolwide end-of-year assembly, a student delivered a beautiful and powerful speech about his takeaways from the journey. To watch the speech, please click here.
