Junior Physics Students Measure the Mass of a Car, the Hard Way

Ramaz News

Junior physics students were tasked with measuring the mass of their teacher Rabbi Joshua Blaustein’s car. The catch? They couldn’t just Google the weight of a Honda, they had to calculate it using force and distance. Rabbi Blaustein put his car into neutral while students pushed the car with their hands. As they pushed, they pressed on a scale to track the exact pressure they exerted and used a measuring wheel to determine how far the car moved. Inputting these measurements into the calculation they learned in class, they accurately deduced the car’s mass. Let’s just say, passersby were amazed by the sight of teenagers pushing cars down 78th street!
