Boys Varsity Basketballers Visit Yeshiva University

The boys Varsity basketball team rising seniors had the privilege of taking a private tour of Yeshiva University. They heard from members of the athletics department and learned about the unique balance of academics, athletics, and Torah life at YU. This trip was designed to give the students an inside look at what it means to be a student-athlete there.

While the students enjoyed seeing the athletic facilities, one of the most meaningful parts of the day was their visit to the Beit Midrash, where they were introduced to Rabbi Schachter. The opportunity meet him was incredibly special. In fact, Ralph S. '27 immediately wanted to greet Rabbi Schachter and shake his hand, recognizing what a unique moment it was. The students also visited the Sephardic Beit Midrash, which was particularly meaningful for several of our Sephardic players, who appreciated seeing that aspect of campus life reflected in their own heritage and traditions.

Ramaz always strives to provide our students with opportunities to explore their future options, academically, athletically, and spirituality. The students are grateful to Ramaz Head of School Dr. Wasserman for helping put the visit together and for strengthening the connection between Ramaz Athletics and Yeshiva University.
