Students Learn All About Yom Kippur

Ramaz News

Last week, upper school students partook in multiple assemblies about Yom Kippur, taught by  Rabbi Shlomo Farhi, Rabbi Joshua Lookstein, and Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz. Lessons were held on hatarat nedarim, the annulment of all vows, and teshuva. Students were introduced to the idea that human beings are a species that have empathy, and this trait weighs heavy in our minds; and Rosh Hashanah was not only the beginning of the creation of the world, but also the creation of humanity itself. Another idea discussed was that what we see may not be the way things are, rather we see things the way we are; And we must be conscious of the way we process our understandings in the world.
