The Bracha Bee Was A Blast!

Last week, fifth graders participated in the Bracha Bee! Created by Rabbi Gaon with a similar structure to a spelling bee, students were asked for the brachot rishonot (first blessings) and the brachot acharonot (after blessings) on specific foods. Some questions were tricky: For example, what brachot (blessings) are made on date bread? Eventually the 24 participants were whittled down to four champions. Kol haKavod!
