Middle Schoolers Welcome Families From Kibbutz Kerem Shalom
Ramaz News
Ramaz and KJ families were honored to host families from Kibbutz Kerem Shalom in their homes as a part of Project 24's Thanks4Giving initiative. Thanks4Giving brought 700 Israeli heroes from 28 kibbutzim and moshavim that were devastated by the October 7th attacks to 35 Jewish communities across the US for a week. The goal of the Mega Mission was to give Israeli heroes and their families the love and gratitude that they deserve.
The Ramaz Middle School invited the visiting families from Kerem Shalom to a special kumzitz, led by Noam Buskila, Israeli musician and IDF reservist. Together, they sang and danced to songs of hope and strength. Geula, a woman from the Kibbutz, thanked the students for hosting them and said that she truly feels the love of the Jewish people. She emphasized that her community continues to build up the courage and the strength to return home when it is safe to do so. Ms. Ross gave a short history lesson about the communities around the Gaza envelope, like Kerem Shalom. Students watched a video prepared by Project 24 about one of the visitors, Yair, who was injured protecting his community from terrorists on October 7. He has made a remarkable and miraculous recovery. The program ended with a meaningful and soulful "Hatikva."
Thank you to Danielle and Jon Auerbach for sponsoring this program.
