Middle Schoolers Bring Sufganiyot and Reflection to the KJ Lunch & Learn

Ramaz News

Rabbi Mendy Eisenberg’s eighth grade Chumash class went to the KJ Lunch & Learn to decorate sufganiyot in anticipation for Chanukah. The KJ Lunch & Learn is a weekly program in which elderly members of the community participate in Torah learning. Students joined with the participants and discussed Chanukah traditions. Everyone contemplated the idea of maintaining old traditions from youth while adopting newer ones, either through learning or based on marriage, and the beauty of the synthesis of traditions. As they noshed on the pretty sufganiyot and talked about tradition, everyone particularly reflected on sowing gratitude to Hashem for bringing us to where we are.
