Third Graders Build Towers Using Teamwork, Problem Solving, and Pipe Cleaners

Third graders launched into the school year with creativity and enthusiasm! The young innovators took on their first engineering challenge: building the tallest tower using only 10 pipe cleaners. Working in pairs, they practiced collaboration, problem solving, and how to design a stable structure. Their teachers are already so impressed with their teamwork, creativity, and perseverance. The tallest structure was 18 inches tall!

This year marks an exciting milestone for the students, as third graders make the transition from iPads to Chromebook laptops. Excitement has been in the air as students eagerly embark on this new journey. From learning the importance of a private passcode to navigating in Google Classroom, third graders are rising to the challenge with motivation and curiosity.
