Second Graders Develop Research Skills in the Nonfiction Unit
Ramaz News
Second grade kicked off the nonfiction reading unit by comparing fiction and nonfiction books, in the process discovering how nonfiction texts provide real-world information. The students went "book shopping," and were eager to select books on topics they were personally interested in learning more about. As they dove deeper into their nonfiction studies, they focused on strategies for defining "tricky" words, using tools like glossaries, understanding prefixes, and relying on context clues. With these new skills in hand, the students are thrilled to continue their nonfiction journey, ready to uncover even more fascinating information over the coming weeks.
