Second Grade Is Delving Into Nonfiction

In second grade reading, students are delving into nonfiction texts. In order to understand the different features of a nonfiction book, such as pictures and captions, they were tasked with matching random pictures to captions that they thought best described the images. This hands-on activity helped the students realize how important each feature is in every book they read. The class enjoyed the activity and are excited to keep analyzing books in such logical and thoughtful ways!
