P.E. Students Up Their Skills in Dance and Football

Ramaz News

Physical Education is upping the ante with fun challenges during the current unit, which combines dance and football. Students begin each class by warming up with a quick dance. They follow the warmup with partner work, slowly increasing the distance when throwing the football. The students are learning how to run different routes, like the slant and hook. The first and second graders continue to integrate these skills into fun activities like football island and relays, and the third and fourth graders are now incorporating these routes into a game situation. The unit emphasizes teaching the students the basic rules of the game, so the children can start to understand how a real football game works.
