First Graders Are Getting Creative With Art And Music!

Ramaz News

First graders are kicking off the new school year in many creative ways! In art class, they're creating sketchbook cover designs. They looked at artist sketchbooks and discussed why artists use them. They then looked at artist Takashi Murakami and his colorful flowers as inspiration for our school wide mural near the LS entrance.

In music class, first graders are becoming acclimated to joining the Lower School by learning the “Ramaz School Song” in English and Hebrew. They learned the new melody and lyrics to be prepared to sing along with their school community at our weekly Oneg assemblies. The musicians are reviewing some Shabbat songs and learning new action songs. In order to establish our musical community, they are reading and singing the refrain of the storybook, All Are Welcome, by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman.
