Lower Schoolers Learn Literacy Using a "Jeopardy Game"

Ramaz News

Fourth graders have been busy in literacy! This week, students took a closer look at the rules for capitalization, punctuation, sentence types, and parts of speech. To test our knowledge, we held a friendly “Jeopardy”-like game, in which students answered grammar questions and prompts. Students showed wonderful sportsmanship and a solid understanding of the rules that were taught! Additionally, we have entered our first reading unit, “Great Heart.” Students have been learning about the literal and figurative meanings of the word “heart,” and have engaged in thoughtful conversations about the word’s many different interpretations. We have studied the word’s etymology and have analyzed famous quotes that mention the word heart, to determine whether the speaker used it figuratively or literally. Students also interviewed people in their lives about their interpretations of the word “heart.” We look forward to sharing more about this unit soon!
