Fourth Graders Present a "Voices of the American Revolution" Mock Debate for Parents
Ramaz News
Fourth graders culminated their months-long study of the American Revolution with their "Voices of the American Revolution" presentation. They performed in front of their visiting families and simulated a mock debate between Patriots and Loyalists! Each student shared a "diary entry" that he or she wrote from the perspective of a fictional colonial citizen, providing a first-person account of a historical event that led to the revolution. They spoke on the Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Students presented their perspectives in a poised, professional manner and even included some colonial-era slang words to get into the spirit of the time period! Students worked incredibly and teachers and parents were so proud.
