Fourth Graders "Perform" At Carnegie Hall!

Ramaz News

For the first time in four years, Ms. Amanda Saperstein brought the fourth grade class to Carnegie Hall to paticipate in LinkUp, an interactive music-education program. The students were treated to their own recorders upon arrival, which they would use during the event. To begin the show, the audience was acquainted with all of the instrumental families that make up an orchestra. Then, they were introduced to different musical genres and the instruments that make them unique. They were treated to Zimbabwean music and dance and Austrian classical music and ballet. An Israeli flute player made a special appearance, which made our students feel happy and seen. Throughout the show, the audience participated by stomping their feet, clapping their hands, humming to tunes, and playing their recorders along with the professionals!
