Students Learn about Bnei Yisrael's Midbar Journey and Go on a "Five Senses" Garden Walk
Ramaz News

ECC students learned about Shavuot and Parshat Bamidbar in the garden. The children learned that "midbar" means "wilderness," which is where Bnei Yisrael are in Sefer Bamidbar. The students shared ideas about why Hashem chose to give Bnei Yisrael the Torah in the wilderness. Then, everyone went on a "five senses" garden walk to learn more about the environment that we have in the garden. They looked for different colors in our garden, listened for what they could hear, felt the plants for different textures, smelled the rosemary with a besamim bracha, and tasted different kinds of lettuce! Finally, everyone discussed the mitzvah of tzedaka through the actions of Boaz in Megillat Rut and harvested chives for a local food pantry!
