Pictures Inside: Kindergarteners Celebrate Learning the Entire Hebrew Alphabet with an Otiyot Party
Ramaz News
Kindergarteners have spent an incredible year learning Hebrew, and they celebrated the amazing accomplishment of having learned the entire Hebrew alphabet! At their otiyot (alphabet) party, they played games, made crafts, and noshed on treats, all surrounding the theme of Hebrew letters. For example, they played a "fishing" game in which a tub was filled with magnetized letters, and the children used magnetized fishing lines to catch and reel them up! In another, the letters were laid out on the floor and the students each chose an object, such as a shofar or a lemon (limon in Hebrew) and had to figure out which letter began the object's name, placing the object carefully on the corresponding letter until the entire alphabet was filled with fun items.
