Nursery Varod's Makolet Is Open For Business!

Ramaz News

Recently in their Judaic Studies class, Nursery Varod learned the Hebrew word for a grocery store, makolet. Soon after, they opened their very own store! The children looked at pictures of grocery stores in Israel and America and noticed many similarities. Then they glued pictures of popular Israeli foods such as Bissli, yogurt, milk, Bamba, and chocolate onto paper bags and blocks in order to recreate these food items. Excited to play, they brought over a table and on top of it was a cash register and scanner. All students were able to take turns as both the cashiers and the customers. The children even used shekels as they pretended to go shopping!
