K-Lilach Are "Nature"-al Artists

Ramaz News

K-Lilach is exploring Tu B'Shvat through art. In preparation for the upcoming holiday, students learned about fruits and trees through three different art projects. First, the students learned about the artist Paul Cezanne and how he revolutionized the art world by popularizing still life art. Students had the opportunity to set up and sketch their own still life displays. Secondly, students studied the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo and looked at his portraits that were composed of drawings of fruits and vegetables. The students then created their own "fruit faces" out of photographs of fruits and vegetables. Thirdly, students used recycled cardboard items to create a piece of large wall art. Students worked together in groups, deciding where each item should go and painting the final product.
