Pictures Here: ECC Students Party for their Hebrew-Speaking Turtle Puppet's Birthday

Happy birthday, Bentzi! Our favorite Hebrew-speaking turtle turned four, five, or six today (depending on which class you ask). Everyone celebrated the Ramaz ECC way: with party hats, Hebrew singing and dancing, and cake! Classrooms transformed with festive artwork the students had created to decorate the space, and the children created their own party hats to wear. They collaborated to illustrate and read aloud a book that said, in Hebrew, the gifts each child would present to Bentzi. It was the perfect way to practice their Hebrew learning and express their creativity, while enjoying how good it feels to be generous and give a thoughtful gift to Bentzi. Everyone loved taking part in the Israeli tradition of singing “Hayom Yom Huledet” while lifting Bentzi in a chair: counting out one lift for each year, plus one for good luck!
