ECC Students Learn about Gratitude from the Parsha and the Garden
Ramaz News
ECC students had their final session of GrowTorah, their Judaic Studies program in the garden! In the final meeting, the students learned about the week's parsha, Parshat Behaalotcha. They discussed how Bnei Yisrael complained about the maan that Hashem sent, and spoke about how we can learn to be fully appreciative of the food we have by growing it in our garden. Students made "hand salads" in the garden by harvesting from all of the different plants they'd cultivated over the year! They tasted lettuce, chives, snap peas, basil, and lemon balm. They ended their time together by performing one last mitzvah in the garden: making a besamim bracha on smelling sage!
