ECC Students Explore Parshat Nitzavim Through Gardening Mitzvot
Ramaz News
In the newest installment of GrowTorah, students learned that in Parshat Nitzavim, Moshe tells Bnei Yisrael that the Torah is not just for studying: Bnei Yisrael has to act on its mitzvot. The students discussed that they have many opportunities to do mitzvot in their garden, and that one of these mitzvot is to take care of it, just like Adam and Chava were told: "leovdah uleshomrah," to work and protect the land. Together, the students tended to the garden by clearing dried-up corn from the summer beds, so that the beds can be planted for fall. Then, the students planted lettuce seeds, and everyone made sure to do their part to help them grow by watering them. With Hashem’s help, they will see some seedlings in the coming weeks!
