ECC Students Celebrate Earth Day by Learning about L'ovdah Ul'shomrah

ECC students celebrated Earth Day! They talked about how Hashem told the first people that they were put on Earth to work and protect the land, "L'ovdah Ul'shomrah." Together, the students discussed ways that everyone can take care of the planet. Then, they set off to see what they could do to work and protect the ECC's garden. The children admired all of the new plants that popped up over Pesach break and then gave everything a good watering. They found that some of the pea plants they had planted were lying down instead of standing upright, so the children worked together and built a trellis to support them. They also enjoyed some chives, making sure to check for bugs like they learned in this week's parsha. Lastly, the class wrapped up by planting some more seeds in the garden!
