Check Out the Recording and Resources from Our "Meeting the Moment" Webinar

Ramaz News

On Tuesday, the Ramaz Alumni Association hosted a Zoom program called "Meeting the Moment" that was focused on providing college students and young professionals the language and tools to fight Anti-Semitism and Anti-Zionism on campus and in the workplace. The program began with a moving on-campus update from Eitan Linhart '21, who is a current student at the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier this fall, Eitan had written a poignant guest column for the Daily Pennsylvanian, his school newspaper. The column responded to a school-funded program that at first glance was "celebrating and promoting cultural productions of Palestinian writers and artists," but, in actuality, invited "speakers to Penn who have repeatedly attacked and demonized Jews." Eitan spoke to the audience about the fallout of this event and the current climate on his campus.

The next portion of the program featured an incredible talk from Dr. Dana Levinson Steiner, Director of ACCESS Global at AJC, who broke down many of the "most popular" Anti-Israel conversations, conspiracy theories, and arguments that young people (and those not so young) are facing. She taught language for how to have hard conversations with colleagues, classmates, even faculty and managers, and provided everyone with a "Funnel of Engagement" to help shape each person's narrative and prepare them for these conversations.

The program closed with a Q&A session where Dr. Steiner and Eitan answered questions from the audience.
