Alumni Gather for a Special Evening Dedicated to Israel

Ramaz News

Last week, over 50 alumni and community members gathered at the Upper School for an evening of chizuk and song. The program began with words from Rabbi Josh Lookstein '88, filling everyone in on what has been happening at Ramaz these past weeks. Then, James Goldberg '13 recounted over Zoom how he has been helping folks on the ground in Israel and shared what we can do here in the states to support our brothers and sisters on the front lines. Attendees then heard from Cat Korren, an Israel-American community organizer, who shared a story about where she was on October 7, and how the Jewish Community answered the call with loud voices and open arms in their efforts to support Israel. Friends of United Hatzalah shared a short video and words of encouragement, and the evening ended in a Kumzits led by Rabbi Dov Pianko and Mr. Daniel Henkin. Thank you to Helene Weissburg '08, Rachel Aboodi '15, and Gil Cohen '20 for helping to organize this moving event.
