We're excited to share that Rabbi Shlomo Stochel was invited to speak alongside an impressive list of prominent Jewish Yale graduates for an alumni Kosher Kitchen event, hosted in the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale. Rabbi Stochel delivered a lecture on "Exploring Fantastic Aggadot in the Talmud: Literal or Literary Interpretation?" and "The Curious Incident of the Haunted House of Study in Kiddushin 29b."
Fellow Yale alumni speakers at the event included Dr. Jonathan Sarna, Brandeis University professor of American Jewish History; Rabbi Pamela Barmash, professor of Hebrew Bible at Washington University in St. Louis; Dan A. Oren, MD, visiting professor of Physiology at the University of Rzeszów, Poland, and associate professor of Psychiatry (Adjunct) at Yale University; Dr. Seth Ward, professor of Islam and the Middle East in the Department of Religious Studies at University of Wyoming; Rabbi Michael Whitman, sessional lecturer at McGill University Faculty of Law, and creator of its Talmudic Law Moot Court Competition; and Dr Mark S. Mellman, President & CEO of the Mellman Group, a polling and consulting firm whose clients include leading political figures, Fortune 500 companies, and prominent public interest groups from The NEA, to The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. Mellman has taught at Yale in the Political Science department.
