News From Ramaz
All of the ECC classes visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Lauren from Mummies and Masterpieces. There they saw the Egyptian Art exhibit. It was fascinating to see what we have been learning about first-hand. We learned more about the way people lived in Mitzrayim. We saw a huge statue of a Pharaoh as well as many smaller ones. We also saw a statue of a Jewish slave. There were drawings on papyrus paper depicting daily life in Egypt and the Temple of Dendur, which had hieroglyphics on the walls. Lauren showed us pictures of the excavation of the Temple from the Nile River. We enjoyed looking at the way the Egyptians lived, and learned a lot about their life in ancient Egypt. Our learning came to life and invoked many thoughtful questions. It was exciting, informative and elevated our classroom learning.
