News From Ramaz
This past month, the Ramaz Upper School and New York NCSY paired up for a Midnight Run to help those currently homeless on the streets of NYC. At the conclusion of the fast of Asara b'Tevet, 20 students returned to school for dinner followed by the preparation and packaging of food and sorting of clothing for those in need. The students traveled with the goods around the East Side stopping in four different locations to meet, help, and distribute the food and clothing. Along the way, students met many people in need of toiletries, so in a tremendous #MenschMoment, they took the initiative to request to stop at the local drugstore to pick up personal items to give to the next group of people they met. The event was a lot of fun and most important, the students were able to help many people. They left the night feeling empowered to continue to positively affect the lives of others around them through chesed! Special thanks to the Ash family and United Legwear for their donations to this program. Click HERE to view a touching video by one of the NYC package recipients.
