News From Ramaz
The Business Investment Club (BIC) had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Michael Goldberg '76, a Ramaz graduate, parent of alumni, and parent of Isiah '19, who is currently a Partner at Altitude Investment Management, a growth equity fund. Dr. Goldberg graduated medical school at 23, however he realized he did not want to practice medicine and decided to attend Columbia Business School to get his MBA. After Business School Dr. Goldberg worked on Wall Street at First Boston, a bulge bracket firm. While he was working there, his firm created a healthcare banking group. With his past experience in medicine, Dr. Goldberg was very interested in health care and knew a lot about the topic. Dr. Goldberg was one of the first to work with PIPE - private investment in a public entity - where you have a public company, like First Boston, invest privately in a smaller company rather than investing in public stocks.
