The US Women in STEM club hosted two speakers, Dr. Sarah Schlesinger Hirschfeld and Ms. Sarah Malamut '13. Dr. Schlesinger described how she decided to pursue a career in science, obtain an MD, work in research and how she now heads the clinical investigations at Rockefeller University. She chairs the Institutional Review Board and is also on the board of two biotechnology companies. She spoke about challenges she faced as a female when she first started out.
Ms. Sarah Malamut '13 talked about her experience as a female student at Princeton Engineering and at her current job working as a computer programmer at Bloomberg.
It was a very informative talk, made evident by so many students asking questions and remaining at the end to speak to our speakers.
