News From Ramaz
This year's Freshmen Shabbaton was a great success! Students started off the day with a special breakfast - including donuts and hot chocolate. They quickly loaded buses and went to the Bogota Golf Center, where they participated in Bank Shot basketball, batting cages, mini golf, and a driving range. After hanging out and playing some sports, students went straight to the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel, where they had an amazing lunch and some time to prepare for Shabbat. Freshmen students welcomed in Shabbat with a ruach filled pre-Shabbat celebration, an inspiring Kabbalat Shabbat, and Maariv/Aravit. Throughout Shabbat, students and teachers held discussion sessions to gain a better understanding of the meaning of friendship, compromise, and getting out of their comfort zones - through the wonderful works of Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss! After Shabbat, freshmen had a rocking Havdallah with heart-warming dancing and singing. As soon as the dancing was over, they quickly packed and headed to Linden Lanes, where students bowled and enjoyed a great Melava Malka. Freshmen returned to Ramaz exhausted, inspired, and closer than every before! Click HERE for an album.
