News From Ramaz
As Rabbi Lookstein so eloquently said, "this was the best Zimriah ever!!!" This year, the Kindergarten Zimriah celebrated Israel @70. The children certainly did justice to recognizing this very important milestone in our history. They sang all of the songs in Hebrew, which came naturally for them -- thanks to their immersion in our bilingual program. In addition to the beautiful singing of Zimriah, each class added Israeli artwork to the day. Each class focused on a different artist and learned their history and then experimented with making art in that style. This collaborative artwork adorned the walls of the Middle School gym and helped to enhance the program further.
One of the most special moments of Zimriah was when the children sang the prayer for Israel: Avinu Shebashamayim tzur yisrael V'goalo barech et midinat yisrael reishit tzmichat gulatanu.
"Our father in heaven, protector and redeemer of Israel, bless the state of Israel, the first flowering of our redemption."
