MIDDLE SCHOOL ADMISSIONS (GRADES 5-8)
The Rabbi Haskel Lookstein Middle School of Ramaz looks for young people of good character and strong educational promise who will grow in their commitment to Judaism, become engaged in their learning experiences, be stimulated by the dual curriculum, pursue independent work and contribute to the academic and co-curricular life of the learning community.
Most students enter Ramaz in Nursery, Kindergarten, or ninth grade. Individual acceptances may occur in other grades under special circumstances. We encourage families to learn about our many exciting programs and to contact the Admissions Office at email@example.com with any questions.
Parents interested in enrollment should call 212-774-8025 or email the Admissions Office to arrange an appointment and schedule an individual tour with the Director of Admissions.
Applicants to the Middle School are evaluated in order to assess their learning style and academic abilities. Once we have received the application and documents, we will contact you regarding your child's interview and academic and cognitive evaluations. Interviews in both Judaic and General Studies will be arranged.
When applications are complete, they will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Applications for transfer students are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Applying to Ramaz
- Submit an application and non-refundable application fee of $150 through our Online Application by November 8, 2018.
- Once we have received the application, we will meet with the applicant in order to assess his/her learning style and academic abilities.
- Please complete the Records Release Form from our online application page. This will enable us to obtain your child’s official school transcript.
- Please have a current Judaic Studies teacher and a General Studies teacher complete a Teacher Recommendation Form and submit the form to us directly.
For many families, tuition is higher than can be met reasonably. Parents may apply for financial assistance to help ease the tuition obligation. Admission decisions are made independent of the need for tuition assistance. Please call our Financial Aid Office at 212 774-8035 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
