ECC PER DIEM SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
We have an immediate need for a Per Diem Substitute Teacher in Ramaz’s Early Childhood Center, located in Manhattan, NY. This is an as-needed position and you will be placed in a classroom that is in need of a teacher for the day. The school year is consistent with the Jewish calendar and the school is closed during the summer.
Position Summary:
In a classroom environment the Per Diem Substitute Teacher will support the absentee teachers team and plans while supervising the classroom with a high level of care and educational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the lead teacher and reviewing plans
- Adaptability to provide coverage to multiple classrooms, as needed
- Willingness to work with a fluid schedule within a given day
- Preparing and understanding objectives of the daily plans

- Provide academic support in the classroom, 1:1 or small group settings to students with diagnosed learning disabilities and/or ADHD and executive functioning deficits

The Ramaz School seeks to hire a full-time Learning Center Director beginning in the 2024- 2025 school year.
The Director provides vision and direction for the Learning Center Program by supporting students with different disabilities and challenges while supporting teachers in their efforts to teach students with different learning needs within the classroom.
The Learning Center Director is charged with developing learning plans that meet the needs of the learning center students and the challenges that teachers confront in their implementation of the plans. In this capacity, the Learning Specialist will:
§ Develop individualized plans based on educational and neuropsychological testing and documentation from outside providers. These plans describe how each student learns best, areas of struggle or concern, and strategies to share this information with US faculty.
§ Rigorously supervise learning center faculty and monitor student progress to ensure that goals are being implemented and that students receive the support necessary. That support is given in one on one and group work settings in the learning center, as well as in the classroom.
§ Collect, review and interpret psycho-educational evaluations and take an active role in the identification and remediation of individual student learning profiles.
§ Coordinate scheduling, support services, study skills programs, and reasonable accommodations for learning center services.
§ Manage information about students with diagnosed learning differences and maintain records and reports for assessment purposes, produce reports and feedback for internal and external constituents.
§ Support faculty and parent concerns/issues for students in cooperation with the school psychologist and administration to enhance student learning.
§ Serve as a link to the College Board and ACT for learning center students and act as an advocate for students applying for accommodations on standardized tests.
§ Develop and implement learning center policies and procedures, facilitate training as needed for staff in the areas of learning development, learning strategies, and identification of different learning styles.
§ Stay abreast of current and developing trends in Developmental Education and learning assistance programs. Required Qualifications: § Masters degree in Education, Special Education or related subjects.
§ Have five or more years related experience in teaching and supporting high school age students with learning differences.
