NEW YORK CITY IS OUR CAMPUS

While our students spend much of their time on East 78th street, all of New York City is really their campus. From museum visits that complement their Freshmen Art courses to Broadway readings of their English poetry. From swim practices at the Safra Center and baseball in Central Park, to hopping on subways when Israel Advocacy needs their presence at the United Nations. Ramaz students take advantage of the endless opportunities that being in New York City offers them.

CITIZENS OF THE WORLD

Ramaz students know that they are part of something so much bigger than just themselves and their school. They feel a responsibility to help their community around them - both their Jewish family as well as the non-Jewish world. Chesed is imbued in all parts of Ramaz - daily packing of lunches for their homeless neighbors, weekly challah bakes and visits to local hospitals, frequent trips down Lexington to post flyers on behalf of the hostages, constant initiatives to raise money and awareness for the victims of October 7th, and annual events for things like Breast Cancer Awareness month.

RELIGIOUS GROWTH

Ramaz was founded in 1937 with the goal of helping American Jews thrive in their Judaism while being part of the secular world. Growing in their spirituality and love for Judaism, sharpening their understanding of Tanakh, debating sugyot of Gemara, familiarizing themselves with the Hebrew language and culture, and deepening their respect and passion for mitzvot: Ramaz students graduate with religious strength and commitment that empowers them as they enter the secular world.
