Admissions Process
Ramaz welcomes families who share our goals of academic and spiritual growth for their children. Our Open House on Saturday night November 12, 2022 will be for parents only and provide you with the opportunity to explore our Judaic and General Studies classes, meet our faculty and students, and discover exactly what makes Ramaz unique and special. Our Student Open House will be on Thursday November 17, 2022 as a full day visit to Ramaz. Student will have the opportunity to sit in on classes, meet our faculty and students, enjoy lunch in our cafeteria, learn about our incredible extra curricular activities and more! This visit day is open to all prospective students. Registration for the visit is required.
We are excited to host in-person visits to our building! Parent tours will be available starting in November. Student half day visits will be in December and limited to applicants only.
Once we have received your application (by November 29, 2022) and $150 processing fee, we will contact you regarding your child's interviews. All admissions interviews will be held via Zoom. Students will receive their Zoom link in advance of their interview. Students will also be required to compose two writing samples, one English and one Hebrew, as part of their interview.
A complete application includes two recommendations from recent teachers, one General Studies and one Judaic studies. Middle School report cards/transcripts from the last 2 years must be requested to be sent to the Ramaz Admissions Office in advance of the deadlines. An email will be sent directly to the applicant’s teachers and school administrator with the formal request and recommendation forms. Applicants for 9th grade are required to take the Yeshiva High School Placement Exam (The BJE's), comprised of the Judaic Studies JSAT level 8 exam. The General Studies component has been canceled this year. Instead, parents must request the latest standardized test scores from their child’s middle school be sent to the Ramaz Admissions Office as part of the transcripts/report cards. A complete application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Late applications will be reviewed on a space-available basis. Applications for transfer students into grade 10 are reviewed on a rolling basis after March 9, 2023.
