HINENI: HERE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Building Leaders of Tomorrowבניית מנהיגי העתיד
Since its founding, the Ramaz Middle School is distinguished by its academic rigor and excellence. Our curriculum fosters critical thinking, textual analysis, writing and problem-solving skills. Students are empowered to articulate their points of view as they learn to be leaders and changemakers of tomorrow. We offer a full program of core classes in general and Judaic studies as well as art, music, and STEAM enhanced by a modern Innovation Lab, richly stocked library, full-size gym and technology-equipped classrooms. Electives include Spanish, Financial Literacy, Public Speaking, and more. Our goal is to inspire every student to find their passion in a supportive, warm environment.
New York City is Our Extended Classroom ניו יורק היא הכיתה המורחבת שלנו
Our students have the unique opportunity to stretch exploration and learning well beyond their Upper East Side “home away from home.” Through neighborhood visits to world-class museums, access to environmental research and nature hikes in Central Park, interactions with New York City-based international business and political leaders and are involved in serving the needs of the local community through chesed, volunteerism, and other forms of public service.
Inspiring Future Citizens of the Worldאזרחי העולם מעוררי השראה
At Ramaz, students develop a sense of responsibility for the Jewish people and all humankind by learning to embody the Ramaz “Hineni” mission, making a difference to underserved, elderly, and special- needs New Yorkers, as well as the State of Israel and victims of October 7th. Students participate in rallies in front of the United Nations and at smaller vigils throughout New York City and beyond. They engage in the Design for Inclusion Challenge using their design thinking skills for the greater good, learning to upstanders - not bystanders.
Nurturing Religious and Spiritual Growth טיפוח צמיחה דתית ורוחנית
We educate the whole child – academically, socially and emotionally, and spiritually and religiously. Our coordinator of spiritual development works closely to reach each student through meaningful tefillah instruction, exploratory services, and a kumsitz, or spiritual singing. At the core of our efforts is the deep, rich studies of Chumash, Navi, Torah she b’al Peh and Hebrew language, mostly in Ivrit b’Ivrit. We offer smaller classes for students who need more support, meeting everyone where they are on their journey.
