Solving Real-World Problemsפתרון בעיות בעולם האמיתי

Our Lower School students are empowered to work together to solve authentic, meaningful real-world problems with the help of a rich, integrated curriculum, collaborative hands-on projects in Judaic and General studies, and applying the principles of design thinking. In grades 1-4, students begin to explore broad topics and ask questions through research, writing, public speaking, and content-based reading, and through multiple subject areas.

Expanding Students’ Worldview  הרחבת השקפת העולם של התלמידים

Students gain an understanding of the world around them through different historical perspectives and narratives. They discover how the environment impacts peoples’ lives, the work they do, and how even architecture informs a community.

Strengthening Social-Emotional Learning
חיזוק מיומנויות חברתיות-רגשיות

We create safe, joyful, respectful, and engaging classrooms and school communities for students to learn and grow. Educators use positive real-time feedback to foster understanding of community norms and expectations, integrating best practices of Responsive Classroom, Character Strong, and our own “Rams Rules.” These programs give students “voice and choice” and strengthens both their academic experience and the learning environment. Students learn conflict resolution, to identify and navigate complicated feelings during “morning meeting” and each day ends with a reflection following recess.

Deepening Connections to Our Texts and Peopleהעמקת הקשרים לטקסטים ולעם היהודי

The focus on building Hebrew-reading fluency, knowledge of tefillot and the siddur, as well as conversational Hebrew begins in earnest in first grade. Our second graders learn to navigate the structure of the Chumash, growing to become independent Torah readers who have Z’chut l’Yisrael – an appreciation and love of Zionism and Israel.
