Welcome to the Ramaz Early childhood center, a unique community of learners and educators working collaboratively toward the pursuit of excellence in our dual Judaic and secular curriculum.
Through this robust and nurturing education, we aim to stimulate our children to pursue independent work, become life-long learners, and integral members of the larger Jewish community.

Applications are accepted for children entering Nursery, Pre-kindergarten, and Kindergarten. We encourage families to apply based on age requirements and dates listed below.
Age Requirements:

Applicants for Nursery must be three years old by August 31 of the entering year.
- Applicants for Pre-K must be four years old by August 31 of the entering year.
- Applicants for Kindergarten must be five years old by August 31 of the entering year.
Applying to Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten at Ramaz

After submitting your inquiry form or application form online, you will be able to download confidential teacher recommendation forms which should be sent to your child’s current teacher.

Tours, parent meetings and student observations will be scheduled once your application and application fee have been received and processed. Judy Kahn or Ashley Buterman will reach out to set this up and discuss all next steps of the application process.

Tuition Assistance
For many families, tuition is higher than can be met reasonably. Parents may apply for financial assistance to help ease the tuition obligation. Admission decisions are ‘needs blind’, made independent of the need for tuition assistance. Please call our Tuition Assistance Office at 212 774-8035 or email us at tuitionassistance@ramaz.org for more information. The deadline is April 15, 2025.
Applying to Kindergarten at Ramaz
In addition to what is listed under “Applying to Nursery and Pre- Kindergarten”, kindergarten applicants will need to take a scholastic preparedness test. Details will follow once you complete your child’s application for admission.
