Key Responsibilities
- Introducing children ages 3-6 to string instruments and piano, and utilizes movement, singing,

The Ramaz Upper School seeks to hire a full-time STUDENT ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR to begin Summer 2025.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reporting to the Principal of the Upper School and under the direction of the Administration, plan, direct and review the activities and operations of student activities, student government and student organizations.
- Develop school-wide programs supporting the cultural, educational, religious, spiritual and social and emotional needs of students, which encourage student and community participation.
- Work in coordination with the administration to develop the school’s activity calendar.
- Be a part of the Grade Dean team to assist with school culture, grade culture and coordinate activities.
- Plan, execute and oversee a wide range of programs including, assemblies, trips, Shabbatonim, Orientation, Retreat, Color War, tzedakah, and chesed projects. This would include community oriented educational programs for specific calendar days and memorial events. This also includes coordinating speakers when appropriate.
- Create a celebratory environment and coordinate programming in the school for all Jewish holidays and spirit days.
- Create an exciting “vibe” in the school both in person (halls, lobby, music) and virtually (social media); inspiring warmth, ruach, and joyful Judaism.
- Work with Institutional Advancement on the Gyenes Tournament, annual dinner and other development initiatives. Work with Athletic and Arts Departments on special events.
- Arrange and be responsible for smooth use of equipment, facilities, and agendas for such activities.
- Special focus on framing and executing a robust chesed program and facilitating opportunities for community service engagement.
- Manage student activities budget with Upper School Administration and in conjunction with the Business Office.
- Share trip calendar for the school year with the Business Office and partner with them to develop budget and determine financial aid and insurance needs.
- Supervise one employee and lead him/her in achieving the goals of the department.
- Perform other student related projects and duties as assigned.

UPPER SCHOOL STUDENT SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Position Title: Student Support Coordinator
Reports To: Director of the Learning Center
Employment Classification: Educational
Position Summary
The Student Support Coordinator works closely with the Director of the Learning Center to provide both direct support and administrative coordination for students with learning disabilities. This role is responsible for facilitating meetings related to Individualized Education Services Plans (IESPs), maintaining detailed student records, assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and coordinating accommodations for standardized testing, including the SAT, ACT, and Advanced Placement (AP) exams. The Student Support Coordinator serves as a key liaison between families, faculty, and external agencies, ensuring compliance with Department of Education (DOE) guidelines and best practices. This is full-time position that requires a five-day workweek, Monday through Friday.
Objectives
- Ensure timely and effective coordination of IESP meetings and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records aligned with compliance standards.
- Support the development and implementation of ILPs for students in the Learning Center.
- Manage documentation and submissions for standardized testing accommodations (e.g., SAT, ACT, AP exams).
- Provide additional in-person academic support, including proctoring and scribing, as needed.

Position Summary
The Assistant Director of College Guidance is responsible for supporting the implementation of a comprehensive, student-centered college counseling program at Ramaz. This role involves advising students and families throughout the college search and application process, writing counselor recommendation letters, teaching a College Guidance Seminar course, and helping to coordinate college-related programming and communication. This is a part-time position requiring a three-day work week, responsiveness to email the other two days, and occasional work on evenings and weekends.
Objectives
- Support the delivery of a holistic and developmentally appropriate college counseling program for students in grades 9–12
- Guide and counsel students and families throughout the college application process
- Compose counselor letters of recommendation and provide peer review of colleague letters
- Teach the College Guidance Seminar and contribute to ongoing student programming
- Build and maintain professional relationships with college admissions officers and represent Ramaz at external events
Responsibilities Include
- Educate students and parents about the college search and application process, providing thoughtful and ethical guidance

- Serve as the college advisor for approximately 12–15 students per grade
- Meet with students in grades 9–12 as a group and individually to implement a developmentally appropriate college counseling curriculum

THEATER DIRECTOR
Position Title: Theater Director, Upper School

Position Summary
The Theater Director plays a central role in the creative and logistical production of Ramaz Upper School’s theater program. This part-time position, from September through April, is responsible for directing and producing three annual student performances:
- Fall Musical: Performance in December; work begins 10–12 weeks prior (during September–December)
- Spring Drama: Performance in March; work begins 6–8 weeks prior (during January–March)
- 24-Hour Senior Musical: Performance in April; work begins 1–2 days prior
The Theater Director works in close collaboration with school leadership to manage all aspects of the theatrical process—from play selection and casting to rehearsals, staging, and technical coordination.
Objectives
- Direct and produce high-quality school theater productions
- Collaborate with administration to support student engagement in the arts
- Manage rehearsal schedules and production timelines
- Coordinate all technical and marketing components of theater productions
Responsibilities Include
- Select plays in consultation with the Upper School Principal
- Lead rehearsals three times per week (including Sundays) during the preparation period for each show; rehearsal frequency and duration increase in the two weeks leading up to each performance
- Conduct auditions and manage casting
- Oversee all aspects of production including set design, lighting, sound, costumes, and stage management
- Collaborate with the school band for musical components
- Identify potential production vendors and obtain approval from the Upper School Principal—including their proposed rate—before engaging or bringing them into the school
- Ensure that approved vendors complete any required background checks prior to beginning work
- Coordinate with external technicians as needed (i.e., audio, lighting)
- Develop marketing materials and manage theater-related communications, including use of social media
- Communicate with students, faculty, and parents throughout the rehearsal and production process
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Upper School Principal
