HONORS BEIT MIDRASH
Regular classroom learning will be complemented by independent and group study, highlighted by students' presentation of chavurot (self-contained mini-shi'urim on a given topic). Open to students who have already developed a strong desire for and commitment to Torah in general and Talmud study in particular, and have already displayed very solid Talmud study skills.

BEIT MIDRASH
Sugyot will be studied with an emphasis on discerning and balancing perspectives on a given issue (i.e. an introduction to the systematic study of the rishonim). The course will provide the opportunity to improve basic skills necessary for navigating a page of Talmud and for addressing issues relevant to the high-school senior.

SENIOR TALMUD WORKSHOP
This workshop is open only to students who have been in the regular track in previous years. Meeting only four times a week, it is tailored to help students who want to upgrade their skills and reinforce their strengths. Students who are still uncomfortable with negotiating a page of gemara will be helped to chart its waters. At the same time, senior year provides the opportunity for a more sophisticated understanding of the concepts which are at the root of every sugya. In trying to maintain the balance between skills and content learning, this course will lean more heavily toward the latter. This is a class for anyone who thinks it important to maintain a more mature connection with Talmud; certainly a class for anyone considering a year in Israel.
