AP FRENCH

The objective of this course is to develop a high level of proficiency in the communication skills, both verbal and written. Reading comprehension skills are enhanced through the use of articles, newspapers, and a variety of supplementary materials. Students who have completed at least three years of French are eligible for acceptance to this course. This course culminates in the AP examination, for which the student may receive college credit.

B.
AP SPANISH

This is a college level course aimed at achieving a high level of proficiency in the spoken language and developing excellence in written skills. The course culminates in the AP Spanish Language exam for which the student may receive college credit. Students who have completed at least three years of Spanish are eligible for acceptance to the course.

C.
FOURTH YEAR FRENCH

This course is designed for students who have demonstrated a high degree of interest and ability in French studies and who elect to have a better understanding of French culture and civilization. Students will simulate travel experience through all the regions of France getting to know both the geography and the people.

D.
FOURTH YEAR SPANISH

This course is designed for students who have mastered the material in the three year course of study of Spanish and who elect to study the language on an advanced level. In this advanced conversation class, students are expected to lecture and lead class discussions on selected current events topics. Native-like fluency in the four language skills is stressed.

E.
LATIN

This course is intended for students with no prior knowledge of the language. Once the basic structures have been taught, the course will include selections from literature. The text selections will come from masterpieces of Latin literature such as Virgil's Aeneid and Caesar's Gallic Wars. The course will enhance the pupils' knowledge of the culture of the ancient world and its relation to their own.
