Most of the institutions that Ramaz recommends to our students are
yeshivot with full time Torah learning in accordance with our belief that an intensive year of Judaic studies will serve our graduates best before they proceed to college. Some of our students elect to enroll in programs that have a more mixed curriculum and schedule, with exposure to diverse experiences in Israel, but all have Torah learning as a significant, if not exclusive, component of the year of study.
Following is a list of programs our students have attended in recent years:

Ramaz sustains its commitment to the year of study in Israel with the presence of a faculty member in Israel. Ms. Ricki Bernstein, who has many years of experience working with Ramaz students and their families, monitors our graduates' adjustment to Israel, hosts class reunions at her home and maintains contact with the students throughout the year. Ms. Bernstein also travels to New York at the height of the application season for the express purpose of meeting with every senior considering the year in Israel, providing yet another layer of guidance for our students. Our students continue to communicate with their adviser and their teachers through phone conversations and email.
In addition to this supervision from Israel, Rabbi Jay Goldmintz, Headmaster of the Upper School, visits Israel annually in December to spend time with each of our graduates at his or her school. Rabbi Goldmintz assesses the progress of our students by means of conversations with them as well with the faculty and administrators of the
yeshivot. With the founding of new Israel programs each year, Rabbi Goldmintz also devotes a portion of his trip to evaluating such programs to determine their compatibility with our student body and with the educational and religious philosophy of Ramaz.
