The Rabbi Haskel Lookstein Middle School of Ramaz is a Modern Orthodox, coeducational yeshivah day school spanning grades five through eight. The Middle School provides a dynamic learning environment that fosters individual growth, intellectual curiosity and academic excellence, all occurring within a vibrant Torah atmosphere. We help each student develop a personal commitment to a life of Torah and mitzvot in the modern world, as well as a love for the Jewish people and Medinat Yisrael.

Our General and Jewish Studies curriculum provides students with many opportunities to develop their academic skills and to experience their learning firsthand. As the students mature, the academic program changes in organization from a homeroom-based model to a more advanced departmental division. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to think creatively and independently, and to explore areas of special and personal interest. Our goal is to stimulate active learners who are engaged in the process of intellectual discovery and who are enthusiastic about their Jewish identity.

The role of the educational and guidance staff is dedicated to nurturing each student's intellectual, moral, and emotional growth, while maintaining rigorous standards of academic performance. Our broad and varied co-curricular programs complement our commitment to Jewish values and to Western culture. Through our advisory programming, students are provided the opportunity to explore age-specific concerns and issues in order to enhance their social, emotional, and religious growth.  The advisory curriculum includes an emphasis on social responsibility and communal service.

Our goal is to work as a team to ensure that each child's intellectual and developmental needs are met. As we prepare them for the continuing challenges of their academic lives, our students graduate from the Middle School with a sense of pride in themselves as growing individuals and committed Jews.
