
The Lower School works cooperatively with parents in arranging for the transportation of children to and from school.
Transportation Sheets are mailed to families in the spring and must be submitted to the school office promptly in order to compile bus lists and issue MetroCards.
PRIVATE BUS SERVICE
- Supertrans Transportation bus company, exclusively, provides bus transportation for Manhattan students.
- Supertrans Transportation provides door-to-door service on mini-buses.
- A Lower School faculty member helps children off the bus and escorts them into the school building in the morning.
- A Lower School faculty member escorts children from the school lobby onto the bus at dismissal time

- Fees are payable directly to Ramaz by payment in full by check, adding the transportation charges to your existing FACTS payment plan, sending in three post-dated checks made out to Ramaz, or by credit card.
- There will be an afternoon bus for Nursery students at 2:00 pm.
- The afternoon bus for both the Lower and Middle Schools will be at 4:00 pm only. (Pre-K - 2nd grade students who do not attend clubs will be brought to late pickup and dismissed to take the 4:00 pm buses home.)
BOARD OF EDUCATION BUS SERVICE
- Available to students who live in Manhattan within a five mile radius of the school and:
1) at least a half mile away from the school - for students in first and second grades.
2) at least one mile away from the school - for students in third and fourth grades.
- Free bus service between the Lower School and the bus stops listed on the Transportation Sheet
.
Pick Up Times are set by the Office of Pupil Transportation and can be obtained in the Lower School office.
Rules
- Every student must be accompanied at the bus stop by an adult until the arrival of the bus.
- Parents and students are not permitted to make any private pick up arrangements with the bus drivers.
- Students using Board of Education bus service are not permitted to bring other children onto the bus.
- Call the Ramaz Lower School office at 212-774-8010, ext. 5287 for information at in the event of a bus delay.
Bus Parents
- Parents can contact the Lower School floor office for the names and telephone numbers of bus parents who are veteran Board of Ed bus service users who can offer any assistance needed.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
- Full-fare MetroCards are available to students who do not live near a Board of Education bus stop and:
1) a half mile or more from school - for students in first and second grades.
2) one mile or more from school - for students in third and fourth grades.
- Half-fare MetroCards are available to students who do not live near a Board of Education bus stop and:
1)less than a half mile from school - for students in first and second grades.
2)less than one mile from school - for students in third and fourth grades.
- MetroCards are issued in September based on information provided in the Transportation Sheets.
- Students should report lost or defective MetroCards to the fifth floor school office for replacement.
