VISION, HEARING AND SPEECH SCREENINGS
During the school year, students in third grade are screened for vision
and hearing issues by representatives of the New York Board of Education.
Students in first grade are screened for speech issues by a private speech
pathologist. The nurse will contact parents regarding the results of these
screenings.
CURRICULUM
The nurse visits each class during the school year to teach about proper
nutrition and personal hygiene.
HEALTH ALERTS
The nurse will notify parents if there is a student in a child's class with a communicable medical condition. Information describing the condition will be made available.
